So yesterday, we arrive at the farm, as usual. The first mysterious sign was the hat in the middle of the lawn. We were sure it hadn't been there when we left the night before.
Then we noticed another clue--a crumpled package.
With uber detective skills, we deciphered the seed pack. Hmmm. Quick growing corn. Just what Rick C. was threatening to plant in Row 6.
So we checked row 6, where we'd just harvested all the garlic, and saw that it was tilled and planted! Rick C. took a day off work and snuck over to the farm to plant corn.
So that bit of garden didn't lie fallow for long! I hope we get some nice corn out of it. And omg. We got soooooo much garlic out of that row section. We got more of it braided up. There is still a little more to go. It was so photogenic, that I had to try some different shots. On the chair:
With Rick J holding them up like trophy fish:
Here Rick C. does his Carol Merrill imitation.
But I like this shot the best.
In other crops.... We're getting lots of lovely tomatoes. Here are a couple of beauties.
I harvested a bunch of the Borgs from my backyard, and ran them through the dryer. Here they are before the drying, after having been halved and seeded.
And here they are all dried out. I got three trays full, and it only took about 9 hours. Next time, I might try taking them out even sooner.
