Yesterday was really hot. We went over to the farm for a little bit, but we didn't stay long. But when I went to put the chickens back away, Buddy noticed that one had laid an egg! Our first egg!
Here it is compared to a larger egg from my older chickens, which are also Australorpes vs. the Barred Rocks at the farm.

Weather Note
Ok, it's July in Chico. So it's HOT. It's getting into the low 100s. At least it's still cooling off some at night, getting down to mid 60s. All we can really do is irrigate and sit in the shade drinking ice cold beer.

All the peppers are setting well and ripening. This is an Anaheim. The Biker Billy's are wildly productive this year, with the plants just loaded with fruit.
The beans are coming along. They got a bit of a late start because the peas lasted for so long.
Plum harvest continues. Here Rick picks them before they fall. We just pick up the fallen ones to feed to the chickens.
As expected, the zucchini is productive. These are the gray zucchs.
All the tomatoes are ripening nicely.
Rick C picks some to make salsa.
The little Borgs are very tasty and a handy size. We'll see if I manage to dry any or if we eat them all fresh.
Rene came over and we worked on the sink a little.
Saturday after croquet (Rick J won) we went over to Rick C's house and played a little Wii outside. Here they're boxing, but after that we played a little Beatles Rock Band.
We harvested all the garlic on Thursday and Friday, and laid it in the sun to dry a bit.
Yesterday I began to string them up, but again, it was too hot to stay at the farm for long, so I was only able to string a couple.
