Despite dire weather forcasts, it was warm, dry, and sunny most of the weekend. On the walk to Bill's house for croquet, we saw that the blue eyed grass (really a species of iris) was in full bloom.
Down Mulberry, there is a whole swath of verge covered in it.
We played a little croquet.
I'm feelin' the love.
Then we went to the farm to do a little work. The beneficial insects are out in force, making us very glad.
Ed and Ann's friend came over and helped rip up a privet stump.
Sunday was even nicer! It got almost up to 80 degrees.
Rick got the floor in the chicken coop.
And Buddy worked on weedeating the verge.
Rick planted lettuce.
And more onion starts. We've emptied about half the bed now, and we're searching for more space to put the rest.
I worked on the patch around the lilac tree. This is the "before" picture. I forgot to take an "after" picture, but I'll do that today.
Rick checks the sod.
He's happy to see that the roots are growing through into the dirt.
