Burst of Spring

Once spring gets started, it happens fast! Already the first iris have begun to bloom. The plums are leafing out as well.
Peach blooms just opened yesterday, 3-3.
The plum branch is in glorious bloom, while the apricot bit is just starting to fade.
The almond tree is in full bloom now.
The first forsythia blooms appeared two days ago on the new bit we planted.
While the ones in the glen are just starting to bloom.
It's so nice to be surrounded by flowers.
Farming is hard work! We have to sit in the sun, drink beer, and smell the flowers...
The peas first sprouted on 2-27.
And all the pea rows are well up by now. This is 8b, but rows 4 and 5 a are poking out as well, even though they were planted a week or so later.
And this row is composted, amended, sulfured, trellised, and ready to plant with the last peas. Yes, it's in the middle of the tomato area, but we hope the peas will be done by then. We'll reuse the trellis to support the tomatoes.
Speaking of planting, we now have 218 starts in the seed room.
I should say 218 cell's worth, as some have more than one start. I thinned the tomatoes in flat A to one per cell yesterday, and every cell in A is full! Clearly this seed starting area is working very well.
It seems almost impossible, but we're STILL getting lots of broccoli.
Although not for much longer, as it's all going to bloom, despite our efforts. This is row 6b and it's just about done.

Weather Note
It's been warm and sunny, and we're down to T-shirts after months of bundling up. We got some clouds and a bit of rain (about a quarter inch) over the weekend, and it's supposed to rain again mid week. The clouds made for some pretty sunsets.

Over at 9th, the favas are in full bloom.
I got more mulch laid down.
And put down some pavers.
